Private Clubs

12 August - 14 August Brecon, Powys, Wales.
Brecon is situated in the beautiful Brecon Beacons National Park and overlooked by Pen-y-Fan, the highest mountain in the south of the country. Only one hour from Cardiff, an hour and a half tops from the Severn Bridge and two hours from the midlands it's a Mecca for mountain-biking, walking, canoeing; a great place for strolling, eating, drinking, and of course jazz! The lovely scenery of the Brecon Beacons National Park forms a fitting backdrop for one of the world's foremost jazz festivals.

First staged in 1984, the Brecon Jazz Festival has long attracted some of the best international talent in the field and an audience of up to 70,000 to an idyllic setting in a pretty Welsh market town. Over the years performers such as Sonny Rollins, Allen Toussaint, Van Morrison, George Melly, Humphrey Lyttelton and Amy Winehouse have appeared.

Six-time Grammy Award winner Burt Bacharach will headline this summer's Brecon Jazz Festival. His songs have been performed by Tom Jones, Dusty Springfield, Aretha Franklin and Dionne Warwick, who headlined Brecon Jazz in 2012. Among the other acts on the bill this August will be Laura Mvula, Gregory Porter, Jean Toussaint and Loose Tubes will also appear, along with Warren Vache, who played at the first festival in 1984.
