Country of origin: USA
Click for Full Details: optn.transplant.hrsa.govUp-to-the-minute data on the number of people waiting for an organ transplant in the United States are now available online for the first time.
'The additional data available and improvements to the site will enable transplant professionals and patients to access the information they?re seeking more quickly than ever before,' said OPTN/UNOS President Clyde Barker, MD.
New features in the data section provide multiple ways to view numerical standard data reports, such as the number of transplants performed each year. With a single click, a chart can be shown in easy-to-interpret formats such as line graphs and percentages. A drop-down menu also allows the addition of another field (such as age or blood type of the recipient) to the chart being viewed.
The website allows easier navigation through the most complete set of data on any medical topic in the world. Reports showing the number of transplants performed, people on the waiting list, median-waiting times and survival rates are organised on a national, regional, state and transplant centre basis.
