The site contains several 'calculators' which use artificial intelligence to make predictions about various medical conditions of the prostate.
The site uses a type of artificial intelligence called 'artificial neural networks' (ANNs). These are computer programmes inspired by the microscopic structure of the brain. Just as the brain is comprised of billions of interconnected neurons, ANNs use simulated neurons (nodes) and simulated interconnections. ANNs often have the ability to reveal patterns that might not be otherwise apparent in complex data. In a general sense, our ANNs 'learn' about other cancer patients, and determine to whom you are most similar.
The calculators are:
- An inability to urinate (AUR)
- Cancer spreading outside the prostate
- Cancer spreading into the lymph nodes
- PSA recurrence after surgery
- Survival (with drug treatment)
