The information and articles on the website are evidence-based and have been developed in close collaboration with expert health-care professionals at Sick Kids.
?With the launch of AboutKidsHealth.ca, Sick Kids can offer parents a reliable online source to consult when making decisions about the health and well-being of their children, with information for typically developing children and for those with more complex health issues,? said Dr Ross Hetherington, Managing Director of AboutKidsHealth.ca.
Condition Centres ? Families of children with chronic and complex conditions can search one of the world?s most comprehensive sites on heart conditions, diabetes and brain tumours. Parents can learn about the various stages of their child?s condition from diagnosis and treatment to long-term management and outcomes in adulthood. As the site continues to grow, additional clinical areas will be introduced. Plans are currently underway to develop centres for learning disabilities, epilepsy, and pain.
