Country of origin: USA

TheBody.com has released an in-depth assessment of women and HIV in the United States. Overwhelmingly poor, and with 60% caring for at least one child under the age of 16, women with HIV are the fastest-growing population in the US epidemic, yet they are under researched despite having unique treatment needs.

Women & HIV is the first in a series of features on topics concerning HIV to be released by TheBody.com. It includes:
  • An in-depth look into the state of the HIV/AIDS epidemic among US women.
  • Informative question-and-answer sessions with eight of the most prominent doctors treating HIV-positive women, including a discussion of unique side effects and treatment struggles among women.
  • Interviews with women from a wide range of backgrounds and ages (from 15 to 66) who have battled HIV in their own bodies, and in their communities.
  • A detailed listing of service organisations, books and websites for HIV-positive women.
