Laparoscopic Gastrectomy For Cancer
Country of origin: UK
Cancer of the stomach can be treated by partial or total removal of the stomacy (gastrectomy) to take out the tumour and any affected lymph nodes. Gastrectomy was traditionally carried out by open surgery.
In this procedure, the gastrectomy is performed using keyhole surgery, the cancer is then removed in exactly the same way as open surgery.
