Online diabetes management programme

Launched by the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) Diabetes Teaching Center, this is the first ever online programme which equally focuses on both understanding and improved management for diabetic patients.

This online education programme will offer a complete, separate curriculum for type 1 and type 2 patients, a sub-curriculum for type 2 patients based on treatment (oral medication management vs. insulin management) and full information for health care providers.

Each section of the website provides a detailed explanations, scientific background information, self-management instruction, and optional self-quizzes to assess the knowledge he has received and learned from the programme. In addition, its comprehensive library also provides a printable handouts of key tables, charts, and illustrations, plus video access to educational presentations.

The website is currently available in English. Foreign language versions are to be planned in the future.
