Country of origin: UK

The Macmillan-NCIN Segmentation Project has released data on cancer prevalence over a 20-year period with the aim of breaking down and segmenting the information to develop a better understanding of people living with cancer and patient care pathways.

The data is an indicator of the burden of cancer and can help to inform health care service planning.

The database provides cancer prevalence data for people diagnosed with cancer over a 20-year period (1991-2010 for England, Scotland and Wales and 1993-2010 for NI) has been released. The information provided is for all malignant cancers combined and includes data on time since diagnosis, age, sex, Strategic Clinical Networks (England only) and deprivation (England only).
